Avery is currently a junior at Credo High School in Rohnert Park and serves as the State President for the California Association of Student Councils. As President, she works to represent the voice of California Youth in an education system engineered by adults. In this position she leads a state council of 24 students who host summer leadership intensives as well as legislative conferences that provide a direct platform to present student proposals to the State Board of Education as well as the State Senate and Assembly. Beyond the state council, she is the founder and co-president of Global Awareness, an organization geared towards increasing youth political involvement and educating the next generation of American voters. Avery works closely with corresponding youth activism groups towards national initiatives to further student civic engagement and promote the voice of students in California.
