On behalf of The Familyhood Connection Inc, we would like to invite you virtually to The Familyhood Summit on March 20th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

What is the Familyhood Summit ?

We define Familyhood as a inter-generational governance structure that defines schools as the center for the communities development.

In mathematical terms, Familyhood = the Student Government Association (SGA) + Parent Teacher Association (PTA) + Alumni Association (AA) or SGA+PTA+AA = Familyhood.

Friends of The Schools represent community partners/leaders who are not students, parents or alumni, but who want to support.

We define Familyhood as a community development strategy that is driven by two motto’s.

1) Every school shall have a functioning Student Government Association, Parent Teacher Association and Alumni Association (as mentioned above).

2) Every school shall have a garden, a farmers market and a grocery store.

Our vision is for every school’s Familyhood to plan and operate their school garden, farmers market and grocery store .

There are some schools with Student Government Associations, Parent Teacher Associations, and Alumni Associations already functioning and bringing value to their schools. Yet, there are many schools who do not have these basic school -based organizations functioning.

The Familyhood Summit seeks to enable schools to share their successes and obstacles to promote all schools to utilize governance to increase engagement and community participation from local residents, while improving the food system for all.[/et_pb_text][et_pb_button button_url=”http://www.1stsaturdays.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/FamilyhoodSummitPressFeb6.pdf” button_text=”DOWNLOAD FULL PRESS RELEASE HERE” _builder_version=”4.6.6″ _module_preset=”default”][/et_pb_button][/et_pb_column][/et_pb_row][/et_pb_section]
